Frequently Asked Questions
When is the market open?
Where is the market located?
How do I become a vendor?
Is the food local?
Our vendors take great pride in bringing the freshest, tastiest locally produced products to our customers. As a producers only market, we require that a minimum of 80% of the produce or products sold at market are grown or produced by the vendors themselves. If a product was not grown or made by the vendor, it will be clearly marked. In this case, the product will only be allowed to be brought in if it cannot be grown or made locally (for produce such as peaches), and must be from Ontario.
Where can I park?
Is the market wheelchair accessible?
The market is wheelchair accessible. We are located in a parking lot in Downtown Peterborough; the site is paved and at ground level – there are no stairs. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome. There is also a wheelchair accessible portable toilet on-site.
How do I set up as a community group?
Can I busk at the Downtown Farmers’ Market?
Can I spend Nourish dollars at the market?
Yes, we have a partnership with Nourish and all of our vendors accept Nourish dollars. Available for purchase at market or via YWCA Peterborough.
